Backfilling head for TSHD

Backfilling trenches with a TSHD can result in a lot of losses and become very expensive. In combination with the trenching head in stiff clay, a first concept of backfilling head has been used succesfully on the Hornsea project.

The experience gained during the execution of the first job with this backfilling head resulted in the design of an improved concept of backfilling head to fill a trench with soil laying next to the trench and in the design of a backfilling visor that can be used for dredging as well as backfilling a trench with low losses.
