Chain cutter design for cohesive soils

Subsea trenchers can be fitted with a chaincutter to dig a trench. But in cohesive soils, clogging of the chain causes a lot op problems.

Based on the experience in dredging stiff cohesive soils, a concept of chaincutter (chain and boom) was made that will reduce the clogging of the chain and increase the cutting force. This will result in a higher advance rate of the trencher.
