Dredging in soils with UXO's
When dredging in soils with UXO's, the draghead of a TSHD needs to be fitted with a screen that will prevent the UXO's to enter the suction pump.

Depending on the aperture size of the screen, the soil type and the UXO's, this can result in a drastic production drop: during dredging, obstructions will start to block the screen and the production will drop.
When the flow is too low, the dredge operator will try to clear the screen under water by stopping the suction pump to create a back flush. This takes time and creates an important production loss.

In many cases, the obstructions will be stuck in the screen, forcing the dredge operator to lift the head on deck to remove them by hand. This means an important production loss as well as a dangerous situation in case of UXO's as these can fall out of the screen on deck.

To increase production and safety in jobs with UXO's, Innovate2Dredge has several designs for visors that will fit the existing dragheads as well as a revolutionnary design of a drag head that will achieve high production and safety in soils containing UXO's.
